I usually always have some components of a survival kit in my vehicles, but the last truck I purchased didn't have much room for any thing. I finally resorted to relocating my jack so that I could put something there. this kit fit perfectly it has the basic items you might need. I would think that when you purchase something like an emergency kit the items that expire should at last a few months. I think another good thing for this kit would be some type of survival food, just my opinion. overall the kit is OK I'd purchase another one if I need it.
